Getting no play on this

From the U.P. Want-ads. It's weird. I know there's a lot of people out there with tickets.

You may have better luck if you try this:
"Willing to go as your gracious guest to NU-USC game, or just gimme the tickets outright."

Even better: "Will make pledge to the United Way for 2 NU-USC tickets..."

There have to be at least 80,000 people with a ticket. I think you're getting hosed.

Still no play? Hmmmm. You'd better sweeten the deal but show that you mean business:
"Will pledge to United Way plus one slightly used rocket fisherman for NU-USC tickets. Final Offer."

No, not so much as a whisper. I'm not ready to blink just yet. I think if I just remain silent, they'll get nervous that they're going to be stuck with the tickets. I'd say if I haven't heard anything by Saturday morning, I might consider offering some Cajun cooking or something.

From another U.P. ad:

Council bluffs - one ticket for NU/USC game, willing to trade some fine southwestern cuisine for your tailgating pleasures.

Fred, we have no tickets, but we are going to have a tv camp side and are looking for a cook for the twelve hour mtb race at Manawa this coming weekend, just think about it, flipping bugers, drinking beer, camping, watching football and mountain biking all in one place, now how can you turn that down?

Hmm. Tempting. Actually, it sounds like a lot of fun. Will the game be presented in widescreen HD? Just curious, since that's the real reason I wouldn't pay more than face value for the tickets. My home game viewing experience is quite excellent - and free. ABC just gives it to you if you've got the rabbit ears (Which was my nickname in college).
